About the Game
This website hosts an online adaptation of the board game Classic Warlord by Mike Hayes. It requires no download and can be played immediately right in your web browser.
- ▶ Classic Warlord Online lets you play solo against up to 6 AI or multiplayer against human opponents.
- ▶ The rules follow the original Classic Warlord board game Rules.
Get Started
- Prepare Your Table: For the best view of the battlefield, we highly recommend playing the game on a desktop computer or tablet.
- Learn the Rules: Like any good board game, it helps to know how to play. Reading the Rules or skimming the Quick Start Guide is entirely optional, but highly recommended to grasp the core mechanics.
- Play a Practice Game: Try a Solo match against the AI. It's the perfect way to get a feel for the board layout, the turn structure, and how combat resolution works without any pressure.
- Face Real Players: Once you're comfortable with the game's flow and have bested the AI, you are ready to test your strategies against real human opponents!
- Claim Your Identity: We highly recommend signing in with your Google account to track your progress and unlock achievements. Once logged in, be sure to set your custom player name so your opponents know exactly who is conquering them!
- Explore the Map: Before you join a battle, use the Map Explorer to preview the battlefield and choose which boards you want to include in your next game.
- Find a Game: Gather your friends to join a game at the same time, or use the auto-join feature to jump into an open match. (Note: While we build up our player base, you might have to wait a little while for others to sit down at the virtual table!)
- Say Hello: Once you make it to a lobby, use the chat to greet the other players. When everyone is ready, click "Ready Up" or "Start Game" to begin drafting your starting regions.
- Take Your Turn: Play the game! Just be sure to keep an eye on the clock—taking too long to make your decisions might result in a timeout. Keeping a good pace makes the game better for everyone.
- Enjoy the Upgrades: The multiplayer mode plays by the exact same rules as the solo version, but features improved graphics and fun audio additions—especially for those highly satisfying bomb detonations.
